Tuesday, January 11 - Round Rock Reads Kickoff

The Round Rock Public Library kicks off Round Rock Reads, a month long community read in January, with a special documentary film and local author Mike Cox.  The title chosen for Round Rock Reads last fall was Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie & Clyde be Jeff Guinn. 7PM-Documentary film, Hunting Bonnie and Clyde, will be shown in Meeting Room C.  Ice cream and popcorn provided! 8PM-Mike Cox, local author and award winnin journalist, will speak on the Texas Rangers.  Following the discussion, there will be an opportunity to purchase Mr. Cox's books and he will be available to sign copies.

Saturday, February 5 - Home Depot Kids Workshop

The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Come out to the Brushy Creek Community Center Pavilion and Bat Deck for our First Annual Bat Fest!  Bring the whole family to celebrate our bats while enjoying live music, bat games, crafts and much more!  This is a free evenet but we will be collecting canned goods to help local food banks re-stock after the holidays!

Saturday, February 5 - Daddy Daughter Dance

The Daddy Daughter Dance at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center is a perfect time to create a special and memorable experience with your daughter! Dress up, take pictures and dance the night away! Enjoy dancing to all types of music, a dance contest, refreshments, activities and professional photography onsite. There will be 2 identical dances for 2 age groups on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
  • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. -- Girls age infant through 7
  • 8 to 10 p.m. -- Girls age 8 and up
